  Uses

  Sika® MultiPrimer Marine is used to improve adhesion on many metals such as aluminum, steel, galvanized steel and non-ferrous metals, on wood such as teak, mahogany, Oregon pine and cork. This primer could also be used to improve the adhesion of Sikasil® sealants and adhesives. Ask for advice from the manufacturer and perform tests on the original substrates before using Sika® MultiPrimer Marine on stress cracking materials. This product is only suitable for experienced professional users. To ensure adhesion and compatibility of materials, you must perform tests with substrates in real conditions.

  APPLICATION METHOD

  The surfaces must be clean, dry and devoid of grease, oil, dust and contaminants.

  Adhesion on substrates can be improved by adding and/or combining pre-treatment processes such as abrasion, cleaning and activation before the primer application.

  Application

  Apply a thin but covering layer of Sika® MultiPrimer Marine through brush, felt, cloth that does not show off or sponge.

  Sika® MultiPrimer Marine shows thermoplastic behavior up to 3 days after application, so it is necessary to avoid high temperatures or initial stresses on the surface to be glued.

  The ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.

  Sika® MultiPrimer Marine must be applied once. We must be careful to ensure that this single application gives a sufficiently dense coverage. Consumption and method of application depend on the specific nature of substrates. Securely shut down the container immediately after each use.
