Sika® Primer-206 G+P is a solvent-based black primer that reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer. This layer acts as a link between substrates and adhesives. Sika® Primer-206 G+P is specifically formulated to treat surfaces to be glued before applying single-component Sika polyurethanes.

Uses

Sika® Primer-206 G+P is used to improve adhesion on substrates such as float glass, ceramic screen printing, pre-coating, painted surfaces and some plastics and metals. Ask for advice from the manufacturer and perform tests on the original substrates before using Sika® Primer-206 G+P on stress cracking materials. This product is only suitable for experienced professional users. To ensure adhesion and compatibility of materials, you must perform tests with substrates in real conditions.

APPLICATION METHOD

The surfaces must be clean, dry and devoid of grease, oil, dust and contaminants.

Adhesion on substrates can be improved by adding and/or combining pre-treatment processes such as abrasion and cleaning.

Pre-treat the area to paste substrates with Sika® Aktivator-100 using the wipe-on method, wipe-off and wait for evaporation.

Application

Shake Sika® Primer-206 G+P very carefully until the mixing ball moves freely. Continue to shake for another minute and apply a thin but covering layer through brush, felt or sponge.

The ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.

Sika® Primer-206 G+P must be applied once. We must be careful to ensure that this single application gives a sufficiently dense coverage. Consumption and method of application depend on the specific nature of substrates. Securely shut down the container immediately after each use.

Important Notes

If Sika® Primer-206 G+P is used below 5 °C, further tests are required under the worst conditions.

Sika® Primer-206 G+P is a moisture reactive system. In order to maintain the quality of the product it is important to close the container with the inner plastic coating immediately after use. Once the surface pre-treatment operation is completed, the cap must be screwed.

Dispose the product about a month after opening if used frequently or after two months in case of rare use.

Packs of 100 ml disposed of two weeks after opening. The 30 ml jars are only for single application.

If you notice gelification, separation or significant increase in viscosity, immediately discard the primer.

Never dilute or mix this product with other substances.

If used on transparent or translucent substrates such as float glass, plastic, etc., adequate UV protection is required.
