Use the Scotch-BriteTM 7448+ manual swab in Ultra Fine grain instead of steel wool for metal surface processing and coating preparation. Our grey swabs are designed to stay cleaner and last longer than steel wool and, unlike the latter, never shatter during use, do not generate rust later, nor leave shards of fine metal. The Scotch-BriteTM ultra fine grain buffers are equipped with a silicon carbide granule, a very sharp synthetic mineral typically used in low pressure applications such as coating preparation. Its compact particles offer a constant and uniform abrasive action throughout the life of the buffer and the mineral breaks faster than aluminum oxide for a higher finish. They are designed to ensure ease of use, reach the most difficult corners and difficult surfaces to achieve without altering the size of the base material. Can be used for cleaning, finishing and polishing without the need to fix, turn or replace the pad in half operation. Useful complement for any toolbox, our versatile pads can be used manually, combined with a special rack or applied to an online sander to work faster on larger surfaces. Scotch-BriteTM abrasives are unique products for surface processing and contain abrasive granules embedded in nonwoven nylon fibers. This combination of abrasive granules and nonwoven fiber creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the life of the buffer. The open texture material develops little heat and is resistant to clogging and can thus maintain high cutting performance.
