3M Kit for fit test quality, bitter, FT-30

Products can be used to validate the hold from face to respirator on any disposable or semimask respirator. To perform the fit test, a semimask respirator must be equipped with a specific P3 particle filter. 3Mtm offers two equipment kits for qualitative fit test: FT-10 and FT-30. The FT-10 kit uses a sodium saccharin test solution that gives a sweet taste to the aerosol. The FT-30 kit uses a denatonium benzoate test solution that gives a bitter taste. The choice between the bitter and sweet test kit is personal. However, a small percentage of the population is not able to detect saccharin, in which case the bitter test (viceversa, if it is not possible to detect the bitter, the sweet test must be used). 3M recommends users to undergo a facial fit test before using a respirator and repeat it regularly as part of the professional respiratory protection program.
